Flacq Disabled Centre
On Saturday, 28th June 2024, the Flacq Disabled Centre came alive with colour, rhythm, and emotion as we celebrated one of the most cherished events on our calendar — Music Day. The event was more than just a performance showcase. It was a day of inclusion, expression, laughter, and community spirit, where every student was given the chance to shine and be celebrated.
From the moment the first note echoed through the hall, to the final round of applause, Music Day was a testament to what can be achieved when hearts come together in unity and purpose.

A Day Full of Highlights
The programme was packed with a beautiful variety of performances and activities that brought excitement and smiles to everyone present. All our students took part with enthusiasm, and their performances reflected weeks of hard work, dedication, and above all, passion.
The event featured:
Soulful songs performed by our students that moved the audience and created emotional connections,
Energetic dances that had everyone clapping and cheering,
A spellbinding Magic Show that filled the hall with laughter and awe,
An exciting Lucky Draw with a range of delightful prizes,
And most memorably, a Live Music Band performance that uplifted the entire atmosphere and got both young and old tapping their feet.
The music filled the room, but so did love, inclusion, and a shared sense of celebration.

The Stars of the Show
Without question, our students were the principal actors of the day. Every performance was more than entertainment — it was an expression of courage, creativity, and joy. Some of our students performed for the very first time on stage, conquering their shyness and stepping into the spotlight with pride. For others, it was another opportunity to share their natural talents with a wider audience.
Their confidence and happiness made it clear — Music Day was their day.
Gratitude to Our Pillars of Support
An event of this magnitude could not have been possible without the support of many dedicated individuals and organisations. We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the following:
Our dear parents, whose unwavering support, encouragement, and presence bring strength to everything we do.
The hardworking staff of the Flacq Disabled Centre, who went above and beyond in planning, coordinating, and executing every detail of the event.
Mrs. Rita, who once again showed her artistic flair by transforming the venue with beautiful decorations that added warmth and colour to the day.
Our talented Live Music Band – Yash, Kapil, Ishaye, Johanna, Ornella, Avishaye, and Adarsh – who gave an electrifying performance and contributed so much joy through their music.
Y Square Production, who ensured the sound system and technical arrangements were seamless.
The Rotaract Club of Riche Mare – Fadil Goolamun, Kaviraj Sauba, Yeshika Khuttur, Jayden Kisto, Hansha Booneyad, and Meghana Rao – who not only acted as sponsors but also rolled up their sleeves and got involved throughout the event. From vibrant face painting to helping with logistics, their presence was felt and deeply appreciated.
Mr. Ibrahim Dhunnoo, President of the Central Flacq Village Council, who honoured us with his presence as Chief Guest, bringing with him words of encouragement and goodwill.
Our Committee Members, who continue to offer their time, guidance, and effort for the smooth running of our Centre.
The District Council of Flacq, who generously provided the venue and ensured we had a welcoming space to host the event.
Mr. Kanen Naiken, whose silent but steadfast support before, during, and after the event made a big difference behind the scenes.
And finally, to all friends and relatives who came, supported, and celebrated with us — your presence made the day truly special.
A Celebration Beyond Entertainment
While Music Day was full of fun, music, and performance, its meaning goes much deeper. For us, it is a celebration of inclusivity, empowerment, and the boundless potential of our students. Every song sung, every step danced, and every smile shared was proof that disability is not inability — and that every child deserves the opportunity to express, to connect, and to be heard.
Music has the power to unite, to uplift, and to heal. On this special day, it brought our entire community together — teachers, learners, families, supporters — all in harmony.
Looking Ahead
The success of Music Day 2024 has filled us with motivation and inspiration for the future. It reminds us of the importance of organising such events, where our students can feel proud, celebrated, and truly seen. As we continue on our mission to serve children and young adults with disabilities, we are committed to creating more opportunities for joy, creativity, and self-expression.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who made Music Day a success. We look forward to many more celebrations to come, with the same spirit of love, unity, and inclusion.
Until then, keep the music alive in your hearts! 🎶
